About me

Hello! I’m Myeonghun Jeong, a Ph.D. graduate from Seoul National University (SNU), where I worked under the supervision of Prof. Nam Soo Kim. My research focused on speech synthesis, with a particular interest in deep generative models and large language models (LLMs). Since March 2025, I have been working as a Staff Engineer at Samsung Electronics within the AI Center, where I focus on agentic AI workflows for material discovery. My work involves leveraging LLMs as core reasoning engines, employing techniques like reinforcement learning, supervised fine-tuning (SFT), and in-context learning (ICL).

My background and history

I earned my Ph.D. from Seoul National University (SNU), where I worked in the Speech Lab, advised by Prof. Nam Soo Kim. My dissertation work focused on speech synthesis, with an emphasis on deep generative models. I earned a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Soongsil University, where I graduated second in my class (2nd out of 171 students).

In addition to my doctoral studies, I have worked as a Research Intern at Kakao Enterprise Corp., where I contributed to the development of in-car speech synthesis services and research on data-efficient speech synthesis, including multilingual and zero-shot multi-speaker TTS. I currently work at Samsung Electronics, researching AI workflows for material discovery.
